SMS consent.
How users opt in to text messages from letsbail.lol — and how they opt out.
How users opt in
Users opt in to receive a single SMS by actively submitting the form at https://letsbail.lol.
To submit, a user must:
- Enter their own phone number
- Enter the phone number of a friend they have plans with
- Click the "Let's bail" submit button
Opt-in language is displayed directly beneath the submit button:
How messages are triggered
No SMS is ever sent based on a single submission. A message is only sent when both the user and their friend have independently submitted the same pair of phone numbers on the same calendar day (LA time).
The friend's act of submitting the form is their own independent opt-in. If only one person submits, no SMS is sent to anyone — ever.
What we send
Each matched pair receives one SMS per match. No follow-ups, no marketing, no re-engagement, no reminders. One match, one text, done.
The brand name (letsbail.lol) and opt-out instructions (Reply STOP) are included in every message.
How users opt out
Users can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. Twilio processes STOP requests automatically and blocks all future messages to that number.
Users can also reply HELP for assistance, or email hi@letsbail.lol.
Message frequency
Maximum: one SMS per matched pair, per day, per user. The vast majority of submissions result in zero messages (since both friends must independently submit).
Data & deletion
Phone numbers are hashed (SHA-256) and encrypted (AES-256) the moment they are submitted. Records are deleted immediately upon a match, and any unmatched records are deleted at midnight LA time every day.
